Gound Breaking held for new Fire Station

The Pike Road Fire Department has officially begun construction of a new fire station on Wallahatchie Road, located across from the current Station 1. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 28, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the department and the community.

The new facility will enhance service delivery and improve response times by providing dedicated living and operational quarters for both paid and volunteer personnel, as well as cutting edge training facilities. Future phases of the project include the development of a comprehensive training center, featuring a multi-story burn building, a vehicle extrication training pad, and a trench rescue training area, among other specialized resources.

At present, the site already includes a confined space training trailer and a training pavilion to support ongoing training efforts. Construction of the new station is anticipated to be completed by the summer of 2027.
